These photos are from a trip to the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness two summers ago. I was looking through some old slides and thought that it would be fun to post them. It is a short, somewhat vertical hike to the lake. The waterfall seen here is on the way. Once at the lake, we pump up inflatable rafts and paddle around the lake to this natural "amphitheater" on the other side. Hiking up in these rocks is precarious but a lot of fun. There are many cool features as shown in the photo with the Great Hairy One! It is a great trip and a group of us went again this summer but could not cross the lake due to terrible winds. The outing was still a success. Perhaps next year we will attempt the crossing again!
